carrying dishes

So with the discussion of ice trays, this made me think of carrying soup to the table or a full plate to the table. I need to follow a wall to get to the table, any ideas as to how to keep the dish from spilling anything, especially since the dish or bowl is hot.

If you have problems, put things in serving bowls, or bring the pot, pan, and serve it at the table.
Get pot holders, so you can set the hot bowls on the table.
That way, you are at the table when you put the food on the plate, and you won't need to be traveling.
Even sighted people do this, because it makes it easier to get all the food to the table, and even have more when you are ready.
Smile.

If you have the space for one, get one of those multi-shelved utility carts and put your dishes on there. Pass each one around the table family-style, and use the cart as a convenient place for you to keep the serving dishes so you don't run the risk of accidentally knocking stuff over on the table and creating unnecessary messes. When you have to get up and get more, just take the appropriate dish back to the kitchen, re-fill, get a pair of ove-gloves, (the grip on those things is awesome, and you won't burn your hands), bring the dish back to the table and serve. If you can't get one of those little carts, the previous poster's sugggestions are good to follow too. Since I don't have the space for a cart, bringing the pot over to the table is sometimes what I do currently in my tiny apartment. Cooking for one is especially frustrating, because when I break recipes, disaster strikes. lol i'm crap at math, especially fractions, but anyway, hope this was of some use.

Thanks. Cooking for one is what I do too, so bringing the pot to the table and having a pot holder on the table for the pan is a great idea.

Yes, the cart is a great idea.
They have carts that fold as well if space is a problem.
